Correspondence, receipts, legal documents, newspaper clippings, bills for classified advertisements, and statements of receipts and expenditures (1862-65) of the Richmond Examiner, of which Daniel was editor. The papers relate to the sale of the Examiner to William Lloyd and to the libel trial of Shearjashub Spooner vs. Daniel, a suit concerning Daniel's review of Spooner's work on Boydell's Shakespeare. Includes two ledgers containing correspondence and accounts (1897-1920) of Dr. Charles H. Moncure, physician of Orange, Va.
